The Training Process

After you have received your equipment, if you have been recommended training hours, you will be contacted by our Training Administrator Diane to arrange your appointment.

Sessions normally take place at Access SUMMIT, but sessions can also be arranged at Salford Innovation Forum (for Salford University students) and also at Crewe (for MMU Cheshire students). Additionally, sessions can also be conducted Online if mobility is an issue.  In most cases, we will have the relevant equipment, but if you prefer, you can bring your own laptop. The trainer will discuss any requirements with you, and try wherever possible to tailor the sessions to your needs. If for example you are working on an essay but are finding it hard to organise, don’t hesitate to mention this, and the trainer will be happy to show you techniques and strategies using the software you have been recommended.

The trainer will record the whole session using screen capture software, which also records what was said. At the end, you will be provided DropBox link to the session which you will be able to download to your computer, and refer to at any time.

You are encouraged to use the skills you have gained in your training sessions in your study coaching sessions. Organisational and literacy software can enhance your benefit from study coaching greatly.
