Supporting Students

Access SUMMIT offers support services to disabled students to maximise their access to Post-16 education through the provision of high quality services and support including assessments, the provision of information and advice, staff development, personal support, training and ongoing assistive technology support.

Centre staff work particularly closely with disability support colleagues in partner institutions: The University of Manchester, The Manchester Metropolitan University and The University of Salford (also see the contact details for the Greater Manchester Universities Disability Support Services here), but Centre Services are available to students across The North West.

Finding us:

Location:

Access SUMMIT is located in St Peters House which is part of The Precinct Centre - on the right hand side of Oxford Road when heading towards The City Centre (same side as Aquatics Centre, across the road from The Phoenix Pub, Spar and Blackwells Bookshop), close to the junction of Oxford Road and Booth Street East.

Enter St Peters House by the main entrance (up the red-brick steps) and then descend to the lower ground floor using the internal stairs or use our street-level entrance to the left of the steps.

Parking is quite tricky but spaces are usually available in The NCP Aquatics Car Park behind us. If you are a Blue Badge Holder we can arrange access to spaces close to The Centre reserved for badge-holders but please contact us in advance to make arrangements.
